Take a look at our photos and the condition rundown below:Ĭase: 45 mm polished stainless steel case in excellent condition as pictured. It's a watch that is ready to wear and provide years of enjoyment at a fraction of its original $8,700 retail price. It is all original down to the strap and spring bars and comes with its original inner and outer boxes. The XXT we have here is in excellent condition and running just as it should. Running seconds is mounted directly to the fourth wheel with a three-spoked hand, with one spoke featuring a black tip. Technically the XXT uses a modified El Primero caliber 4021 with a power reserve indicator on the dial (interestingly sharing a pinion with the time hands) and a 30 minute counter on the right side of the dial. The movement was slightly reconfigured to show off the escapement, pallet fork, escape wheel and fourth wheel from the dial side, which is mesmerizing to watch especially with the El Primero's high beat rate. The XXT has a 45mm case that wears quite a bit smaller due to the curvature of the lugs and the wide, stepped polished bezel. Here we have largest of their offerings at the time, the Chronomaster XXT. And it's a testament to that movement's ingenuity and durability that it is still in production today with only minor updates incorporating modern manufacturing techniques and materials.Īlways pushing the boundaries in watchmaking and looking for something new, Zenith pioneered implementing open escape wheel dials with the launch of the Chronomaster Open line in 2003. Everybody knows the El Primero as one of the best watch movements ever conceived.
